Bren & James' Vow Renewal in the Montreal Gay Village

I had the privilege to be invited to capture Bren & James’ intimate vow renewal officiated by the divine Uma Gahd at Bar le Renard in the Montreal Gay Village. This one was a first for me— I’d never booked a gig through Reddit before but when Bren was asking around for a photographer available on short notice, I had to offer!

I have always loved the weird escalators (think airport people movers but at a 30º incline!) in the Beaudry metro station so I asked the station attendant if we could jump the turnstiles to grab a photo and they actually said yes!

Alli & Tim's Engagement Shoot in Rigaud, QC

Alli & Tim are alumni of Bishop’s University (as am I!) and decided they wanted to get married there so they reached out to me. Now they’re living out in Ottawa, and I’m in Montreal, so for their engagement shoot I suggested we meet in the middle. 

They told me they like the outdoors so we found a great spot near the Notre Dame des Lourdes monastery at the base of Mt. Rigaud. I actually love going on hikes with my couples. It’s great exercise and the view at the end is usually pretty rewarding.

I’m super late on blogging this, but their wedding at Bishop’s University in Lennoxville was also such a fun time.

Maya has been my best friend since elementary school, and played an instrumental role in my fledgling photography career when she both assisted me on my first ever wedding and also (reluctantly) modelled for me on all sorts of photo shoots in and around Lennoxville when we were young and bored. 

So when I found out she was engaged to Tristan I knew we would have to snap some more photos for old time’s sake. Here they are.

Sandra & Jason's Engagement Shoot in Montreal, QC

I met up with Jason & Sandra on a cloudy Saturday afternoon at a metro station in Montreal. On our walk from the station to the Vieux-Port de Montreal, we chatted and got warmed up with the camera. We spoke in depth about their plans for their upcoming wedding next year (I am SO excited, it sounds like it's going to be a blast!) and about all of the good eating spots in the Old Port (Jason works nearby, I took notes). We took full advantage of the fall foliage and while we didn't get a fantastic sunset through the buildings like I had hoped for, we had a chance to experiment with all of the backgrounds that the Old Port has to offer and catch a glimpse of Montreal's brand new ferris wheel (now with added bonus that it works! ;) )
